Control Your Anger

When we are angry, we want to express our anger, to punish the person, or thing responsible for our anger. We wrongly believe that they are the cause of our anger, and suffering. So, we want to say something, or do something to punish the other person, so that he suffers too. However, the other person will respond in kind. Thus, the fight begins. And it will not end well for either.

It is inevitable that we get angry once in a while – especially when we are provoked. Anger is a natural reaction. However, we must learn to control our anger. If we could remain calm, and not let the words or actions of others get to us, then we can avoid the ensuing unpleasantness.

Bear in mind that when you are angry, it is best not to say anything or do anything. We usually regret words spoken, or actions done in a fit of anger. Whatever we say or do in a state of anger will only cause more damage.

Indeed, we are responsible for our own anger. We can choose not to be angry, not to let the unpleasantness get to us. We have to let go of the resentment.

The moment we get angry, we lose your peace of mind. Sometimes, this last but a while. Sometimes, it last for days. You go about fuming, angry with the incident, with yourself for losing your anger. You lost your precious peace of mind. So, every time you feel yourself getting angry, tell yourself it is not worth the peace of mind. It is always better and wiser to ignore, or walk away from the source/cause of your anger.

Anger is a negative energy. Being angry, and harbouring all the negative energies is not beneficial to anyone, least of all to ourselves. Once we know how these destructive emotions affect our health and our well-being, we should make an effort to curb our anger.

Anger is the great deceiver ... it shields us from our own fear and grief. So important not to fall under its influence. I agree.
