Seven Days of Scares 2020: Day Seven
Directed by Peter Jackson. Starring Timothy Balme, Diana Peñalver, Elizabeth Moody, Ian Watkin, Brenda Kendall, Stuart Devenie, Harry Sinclair, and Jed Brophy.
A young man in love is hounded by his controlling mother, who while spying on her son on a date at the zoo is bitten by a rare monkey. The mother becomes incredibly ill, and her son takes care of her, but to no avail. Not to worry mother is back on her feet soon enough, eating anyone who she comes in contact with, and at the very least turning them into walking dead.
The son tries to cover up the problem as best he can, whilst also trying to save his relationship with his dream girl. But things get out of control quickly.

The movie is said to be the bloodiest of all time (measured in amount of film blood used during the production). Apparently 300 litres of fake blood were used in the final scene of the film,.. Although 300 litres is equivalent of 79 gallons, according to Evil Dead (2013) director Fede Alvarez they used 50,000 gallons of blood for that movie, though it is worth noting that towards the end of the movie it literally starts raining blood. The finale of Braindead is absolute carnage.
