BEST SENSORY ACTIVITIES FOR 03-06 MONTH OLD BABIES!! 👶🏻❤️ | BATTLE MONTH | 04
Greetings from @a-lass-wonders!!
Welcome back to my blog again.
Hope you are safe from Covid 19 pandemic. As the prevailing condition getting worse day by day, schools are closed in some provinces of Sri Lanka. It is your responsibility to follow necessary safety precautions to protect your life.
Anyhow, this stay home period make me to move with my baby girl, Yohana. We could able to pay additional attention to her due to this pandemic. Indirectly, it gave a positive impact for Yohana and today I’m ready to explain the sensory activities done with her during quarantine days.
What are sensory activities?
Simply sensory activities will focus to activate five sensory organs of babies; eye, ear, nose, tongue and skin. Thereby these activities will stimulate sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch of them which will cause to transmit information to the brain, to help us to recognize and perceive the things around us.
01)Crinkle taggie blanket with different textures.
I made this by myself for Yohana using minimum things. What I need for this was, a paper with crinkle sound, colorful pieces of clothes and some colorful buttons. Yohana loves to play with this, because of its crinkle sound.

02)Wooden ring with colorful ribbons.
After three months, babies start to identify more colors. At this time, we need to allow them to explore more colors. This wooden ring with colorful ribbons is a good toy for them to explore many colors.

03)Treasure basket filled with different textures of balls.
This will allow babies to investigate more surfaces.
Bottles filled with shiny sequins, colorful ornaments and water will definitely give a new experience to them. From it we can uplift their sense of vision meanwhile giving an enjoyable activity to work on. From this, we can develop their ability to focus on something.

05)Make sensory bags for baby using different sensory items like colorful pom poms, colorful steroform balls, colorful pegs, different textured items and so on. Colorfulness easily grab their attention, as can stimulate sense of vision and touch.

06)Put your child in a wash basin or bath tub and open the tap and make the water to flow down into that wash basin. Child will enjoy from it and can add bath toys to increase their pleasure.
07)Make a transparent jelly by inserting different items and make it to solidify. Then give it to child to explore and guide the child to take dipped items in jelly. It will improve their gross motor skills and hand eye coordination.

08)Place the baby in front of the mirror and show body parts of her/him.

09)Mess free paintings.
Here what you need to carry on, take half of A4 and pat few color patches all over the sheet and put it in a ziplock bag and close it. Make your baby busy with it and after a while start to spread color patches all over sheet making their own illustration. It will enhance their drawing skills and triggers sensory organs of your baby which leads to perceive things around us.

These are few activities I followed with Yohana and hope to elaborate this topic more from next write ups. So stay tuned with @a- lass-wonders.
GOOD LUCK AND HAVE A NICE DAY!!
