It was dark and he felt cold as he woke up. For a moment he thought he was buried alive. A large, cold hand tried to choke him and rip his heart out of his chest. A panic attack!
"Take a deep breathe, calm down and you'll be fine", the voice inside said.
It helped. No one buried him he was alone, hands and feet tied, his body hurt but alright. How did he end up here? He tried to remember where he had been and more important who he was.
" Will someone misses me?"
He wasn't that sure which meant he needed to free himself and find a way out before it was too late.
His teeth chewed on the straps around his wrists. He had no idea how long it would take but at least it gave him something to do. Acting is better than waiting. The air smelled familiar to him. The humid mustiness odor of the earth. A basement! Did someone lock him in the basement of his house or an abandoned building perhaps? Nervously he chewed faster and pulled at his straps. This couldn't be an accident or had he been drunk? He tried to smell his own breath but there was no trace of alcohol. On his back he shoved over the floor till he bumped against a wall.
"I better find a way out of here before the vampire returns and finishes his job. Dark basements are usually a unique place for them to be and to save their food like he saw in the movie Dracula. It's a good thing I didn't end up in a box like Jonathan."
The straps around his wrists broke, a good sign. He was on his way out.
