The champions league is running dry of superstars and with the two worlds best players out of the tournament earlier today, it remains to be seen which players will be watched. The funny truth is that the champions league is not short of talents even with Messi and Ronaldo being kicked out.

Talents are well scattered across the rest of the teams in the match. the likes of Halland and Mbappe surely spearhead this talent with Neymar on the sidelines through injury. Some teams possess talents in their ranks while other teams rely on team spirit and play.

For Chelsea, no target man of some sort as they have to rely on the defence, midfield and attackers to grill results out of any match. funny as that may sound, it has been a game plan that has worked perfectly to date under Tuchel.

For Liverpool, it Salah and even though he has not really been the best version of himself domestically. in Europe, he has been a different beast entirely. That was on full display in the twp matches played in the knockout stage.

Erling Braut Haaland and Kylian Mbappea already both scored four games in the knockout stage of this tournament and they will be wanting to further add to their tallies. After seeing Sevilla off Haaland confidence will be multiplied and his fine form will want more people to catch more glimpse of him.

Off from the back of scoring two goals against Bayern Munich in their encounter in the Bundesliga, Haaland scores more today to take his tally to 6 goals in 3 matches.

Kylian Mbappea is a different animal and he has been on top form for almost all the games under his new coach Pochettino. with Neymar slowly recovering from injury, He has made the scoring duty a top priority and that has made life easier for the new coach.

Bayern got Lewandoski and even at his advanced age, he is delivering on all front. his goal keeps bailing his team out and he also matured well since his transfer from Dortmund. After being robbed of the BALON D OR gong Last year, he has grown from strength to strength. His recent hat trick further cements the fact that age is nothing more than a number.

Man city got Kelvin de Bruyn and the likes of sterling and foden are additional threats going forward. since his comeback for injury a few months ago, he has been nice and its literally impossible to name a squad more united and complete than this current squad under the management of Gaurdiola.

Which players are you backing to shine during the Champions League matches? kindly list them in the comment boxes !!

I agree with your post. I guess this generation is done and the next generation will be led by Halland and Mbappe. Many other teams have talents that will be shinning in the coming years. Sadly for a Manchester United fan to get knocked out early in UCL especially after 2 good wins on PSG and Lizbage(I don't know to type their name lol). Great post
