Flower Bloom in my Garden
It grows from a bulb and produces large quantities of big, velvety flowers. The blooms lasts for 2-3 days.
It blooms primarily in the Summer season. The plant goes dormant in the winter season and new shoot appears in the Summer season.
Pot- The pot should be preferably small in size. A pot size of 6 inches in diameter is good.
Soil-Should be well-draining to prevent rotting of bulb. Soil should consist of a mixture of sand, garden soil, coco-peat and compost.
Water-In Summer, water 2-3 times per week and the next watering should be done whenever the top 1-2 inches layer of soil seem dry. Watering should be done in such a way that water doesn't fall on the leaves as it will damage the leaves(brown spots will develop) otherwise. If somehow water falls in the leaf accidentally or from rain, keep the plant in direct sunlight for half an hour to completely dry it.
Sunlight- The plant blooms the maximum in the presence of very bright, indirect sunlight. Keep the plant outside in a spot accordingly during Summer season.
Fertilizer-A mixture of bone-meal, potash, super phosphate, DAP, etc. before the Blooming season starts should be applied per month as per the size of the plant for production of continuous flowers.
Support-The flower blooms should be provided with a good support which will make the blooms easily viewable as the blooms are quite large in comparison to the plant. A 1-stick long support will be sufficient for it.
Use of fungicide per month as per the size of the plant is desirable to keep the plant healthy and to prevent from fungal attack.
