My Actifit Report Card: March 8 2021
Hey there everybody and thanks for stopping by!
We have been experiencing plumbing issues now for about a week. We thought we’d gotten it fixed by replacing a vent cap under the kitchen sink. Whereas that may have needed replacing, it turns out that it wasn’t the issue, as we found out this morning.
I had my shower and when @silvertop got out of his, there was a ton of water on the floor seeping out from under the toilet! 🙀🙀🙀 He had planned on pulling the toilet off as we’d had indications earlier in the week that there might be some kind of clog somewhere. Once that was off, he ran a snake down the toilet main hoping to solve the issue. He got to a certain point and it wouldn’t go any further. It didn’t feel or even sound like a clog, more like hitting the wall of a pipe. He marked the snake and took it out to measure how far in he got. Then he came in and measured that distance. It was in line of a clean out just outside the door. We had to move a bunch of firewood to get to it first. The next plan was to take the lid off of that and run the snake that way. The lid blew off with force when he pried it open and water was up to the top of it. In went the snake. While he was doing that, something made me go check the other bathroom we don’t usually use. I just store stuff in there and keep the door shut to keep the kitties out. Oh my!🙀🙀🙀 There was even more water on that floor! My boxes were wet. It was a mess! I went out to give @silvertop the news as he was beginning to send in the snake. He got way in and felt some resistance. Then he broke through and the pipe cleared instantly! Yippee, the clog was gone. A few minutes later, he came to the door to tell me the snake was stuck in the septic tank! Are you kidding me!? I said, just walk away for a few and then go back and try to get it out. Fortunately he did just that, and he was able to remove it. Then I had bathroom number 2 to clean up.
Afterwards, that called for coffees and a much needed break! We postponed hiking until 4 pm and then headed out.
It was too nice a day to forgo the hike. We decided to just do half of it as we are tired from all the day’s work. We got up to Towhee Ridge and stopped for a bit to let @actifit-lamb and Walter-lamb get out and romp for a bit. Keith is doing some maintenance to the picnic area as you can see in the pics.
We headed back down.
That’s gonna be it for now. Don’t forget to get those hooves movin’ and get your @actifit steps in!
