My Actifit Report Card: February 25 2021
My son and I played a couple of rounds of eighteen hole disc golf. He beat me twice but I was not playing all that bad for the conditions. I've decided that it is best not to worry too much about the score but focus on enjoying things.
There was lots of wind and rain again today. I threw a less stable high glide disc on hole eight thinking that the tailwind would make it more stable. It kind of did but I missed my line enough so it hit just at the top of the embankment and rolled down into the water.
If your lucky it will stick on the side of the embankment but at least I was lucky enough to find it. I took my shoes off and recovered it from the river. It took a lot of holes before my feet warmed up enough after that so I could throw effectively. The water is pretty cold right now.
My son lost a disc on hole eleven. It is a four hundred plus foot hole and you need to really crush it off the tee. His throw turned to the right too much from the wind and the extra power and it drifted out deep into the river. He was a bit upset and I felt for him. Usually the disc will hit a tree and stop short if it heads too far right but today it went clear through.
Hopefully he will get it back. Sometimes I have had discs come back to me months later because they wash down the river and get stuck on the sandbar. In the summer it is fun to wade in the river and look for them.
There were a lot of little birds visiting the bush right outside my window today:
I managed to take this photo with my smartphone through the window with the macro lens. It is modified in GIMP for a color splash effect.
