Employers Are Making Employees Working at Home Install Spyware on Personal Electronics to Track Them

in DTube6 months ago

It is one thing for an employer to install software to monitor and track their employees on personal computers and smartphones they provide them. That is reasonable. Those devices are their property and they have that right. But for them to demand this type of software to be installed on employee personal devices is crossing a line. Those devices are for personal use, not business, and there is nothing stopping an employer from using the software after hours to spy on them. Which we all know is going to happen. It is almost as if employers are trying to take advantage of the current pandemic to open the door for their doing this.

In this video we take a look at the steps employers are taking to keep an eye on everything their employees are doing while working from home using their own personal electronics.

My computer my rules. If you want to install something provide me with a company computer and phone. Simple as that.

Apart from that: Having two computer and two phones isn't all that unusual.

So if push comes to shove and you can't go un unpaid leave buy a cheap 2ⁿᵈ computer and 2ⁿᵈ phone. Or ask a friend for an old spare computer and phone.

Under no circumstances put the software on your main computer.
