a stranger in a strange land
Life was so much simpler for people under WYSIWYG. What you see is what you get was never part of my lifetime, if i grok things correctly. Growing up in the 1960s was a Donna Reed, Brady Bunch, Flying Nun, I Dream of Jeannie experience. As Hall and Oates once sang ' Bad habits can be cured by cutting them out '.
Cynical disbelief led to plausible deniability. When you assumed the whirled to be good, by taking what you were told at face value, you always had a sense of magic protection in all you would do. You believed in the system and could do anything, be what you wanted to be when you grew up. The kids outside played, the kids inside watched television. No childhood without distraction.
What we did not know, was that television was photoshopped reality. The players behind the scenes were busy creating a new playing field, while we were watching the old one. I knew Bart Simpson as a one eyed rabbit named Binky. The tongue in cheek delivery pointed out inconsistency in the illusion. The scenes of created belief left home and television for college and university settings.
What you know is what you learn, but what you learn is not what you know. They teach you depth at the cost of breadth. They take you deep and leave you down their fascinating whirled of a different sense of reality. You learn a new language within an old language and start speaking in codes, and tongues and dialects, that isolate you from like minded different people who might otherwise be co-inspired with you.
The nuance of detail is that everybody learns different things in different ways. The universal truth is not true, because it is a compilation of many truths, congealed in a morphogenic field at a resonant frequency. We all have the keys, but how many doors are there to open? Wait until you unlock the first door, beyond your human mind.
Groups exist to enable humans to have greater extension of human control. Self-control is a myth called sovereignty. We are all universal sovereigns of a living earth. Our mission is to get it right for the foundation of the next 26,000 years. The tools we currently have to work with are all three dimensional in origin. Our first task is to learn a new way to do the same work with different tools, tools made by hand, our hands.
Life on Gaia at human scale means what you see is what you get. No supra-structures, no hidden agendas, no invading alien forces. Just you and your neighbors, the critters and the plants, and the knew learned illusions of the past illusions dissappear as we build context toward grokking the weigh. We can assess the forms of measure required, to make the apparent reality into the manifestation that we intend it to be.
