Jurassic World 2: Fallen Kingdom
Before watching Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, try to turn off your brain whenever possible. The series has always had very peculiar ideas about logic, the laws of physics and the theory of probability, in Fallen Kingdom the situation only got worse. When trying to make sense of any of the episodes shown, you will most likely smash your forehead with facepalms, so don't even try. Sit back, grab the popcorn bucket firmly and have fun ... If you can.
So, 3 years after people left Jurassic Park, a volcano wakes up on the island, ready to destroy all life. The analogy with Hawaii is really accidental here, filming began long before the real eruption. Naturally, Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Deering (Bryce Dallas Howard), in the company of several extras, are sent to rescue rare, baby-fed spinnips. A waking volcano, crowds of dangerous creatures, gloomy guys with weapons and a suspicious interest in Owen's favorite pet, Blue ... well, what could go wrong?
Actually, the first part of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which takes place on the island of dinosaurs, is almost a classic Jurassic Park / World. Jungle, creatures, someone is running somewhere, everyone is shooting, everything explodes around. The forest is on fire, the car is on fire, you are on fire, everything is on fire ... Volcanic gas and ash? No, you haven't. Heat radiation from lava? Sorry, we skipped this topic at school.
The second part, in which the action is transferred to a gothic mansion somewhere on the coast of the United States, is no better. Traditionally, in Jurassic Park / World, the security personnel recruit employees with a negative IQ, and the fate of each character can be predicted literally in the first second of his appearance in the frame. The dinosaurs in these films are materialized divine justice, so do not even doubt that all the bad guys will be devoured in the most brutal way, and all the good guys will get off at worst with bruises and bruises. And, of course, no child will be harmed.
The only thing that justifies the existence of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom are dinosaurs. As in the first Jurassic World , the creatures turned out to be simply gorgeous. Of course, there are again fewer peaceful herbivorous dinosaurs here than we would like, but there are more than enough theropods who want to tear you to pieces. This time, the filmmakers relied on small critters, focusing on velociraptors and their fantastic hybrid with remote (no joke) control. It was necessary to somehow shove the monsters into the narrow corridors of the Gothic mansion. However, the canonical tyrannosaurs will appear at the right time, as will the handsome mosasaurus lurking in the depths.
As in the first Jurassic World, they decided not to dress the dinosaurs in feathers of all colors of the rainbow, leaving them naked and mostly gray-green. The bulk of the audience would not have appreciated such radical, albeit already generally recognized, changes. And who can be scared by a Velociraptor that looks like a giant parrot? It's a pity, but not a trace of the former revolutionary spirit of the first Jurassic Parks has remained.
Well, it seems that Universal Pictures has finally decided on the target audience for the Jurassic Park / World series - these are children aged 5-12 who are fond of dinosaurs. Targeting is a win-win - at this age, every first boy and every second girl is addicted to terrible lizards. So if you have a kid in those age ranges, be sure to take him to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, he will have a lot of fun watching. And send it better with friends, adults definitely have nothing to do on this film.
PS On June 12, 2018, the economic strategy Jurassic World Evolution from the Frontier Developments studio, a dinosaur that ate on amusement park simulators , is released on Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms . This should be interesting.
