A messy icy Wednesday walksteemCreated with Sketch.

in #wednesdaywalk2 years ago (edited)

I had some books piled up that I borrowed from the nearby library which were past all renew turns. So I decided to step out today afternoon and sink my feet in the powdery white snow on the sidewalks. But alas the view was something like this which triggered all the cleanliness ocd cells in my body😬 Lols!
image It was a weather warning day yesterday here in Toronto. Snow storm, ice pellets, strong wind, possible power outrage etc etc. And what a good day to go for a walk today😂 But the view was mesmerizing to be frank. Even though my destination was the library I was also eyeing the playground on the way where it was pitch white😛 and some kids were snow tubing on a tiny bump on one side of the ground. Not that I wanted to interrupt or join them😂 But to click some amazing snaps😜 image

Fortunately it was not bone chilling cold today. Otherwise my fingers would have froze by now.

Coming from a tropical climate place I have never seen frozen ice like this and was quite excited. While all the people here was glad that the winter this year was not that bad and snow came late this year me.. just me sulked in the corner. I love winter and snow.

I was already miffed that it was not a white Christmas this year.
And not sure how long I will be here.

Maybe it is because I wasn’t travelling much outside that I am ranting so much about snow and winter now😬 Whatever 😶

This is what the street in front of my building look.
So that’s it.
Praying everyone stays warm and safe this winter.

Howdy there silenteyes! You have some great shots of the snow and ice here, well done! What warm climate did you come from and was the cold weather a shock to you?

Hi @janton . I am from India, which has a very tropical wet dry climate. Before coming here I was well aware of the winter and was prepared. But yes I was surprised to know about different kind of snow here like the flurries, sleet, ice pellets and all. All I could imagine before was fluffy white snow everywhere. But now i am aware how these snow can melt and form the dangerous glass ice that you have to be very careful of. Thanks for the read 😊

Howdy again silenteyes! Well that is very interesting and I'm glad that you enjoy all the snow and ice because alot of people don't! lol. Summers are glorious as well up there though. How did you get from India to Canada? A job opportunity?

My husband came to Canada on an office assignment. That's how I ended up here.

howdy tonight silenteyes! how interesting, and you like it there? Do you miss India?

Hi @janton . Yes I love Canada. Its a beautiful country. Love the diversity here. And yes I miss India too, especially when it comes to food 😊

Howdy again silenteyes! oh the food. Do you cook your own India style food? I'm sure they also have restaurants there which make that style of food, right?

Yep I cook. There are Indian grocery stores too. But we don’t get everything over here. Same with the restaurants. I am from South India and I especially miss eating on a banana leaf 😬. But at the same time I do enjoy trying cuisines from other part of the world too. I love Caribbean rice and curry and Japanese sushi😊
