The ancient Egyptians had figs as a medicine and as a food, as at that time they were the only source of sugar throughout the year. In summer they ate freshly plucked from the tree, and in autumn and winter they enjoyed dried. Legend has it that figs grow in paradise.
Otherwise, the fig belongs to one of the oldest cultivated trees.
Interestingly, figs are one of the oldest medicinal fruits, mainly because of the minerals, vitamins and amino acids it contains.
They also say that if khaki is known as the food of the gods, fig is the food of angels.
Figs are a real treasure trove of calcium, potassium, iron and act alkaline for our body. Consuming figs improves the health of bones and teeth, we are not so tired, we have improved concentration, they regulate blood sugar and lower cholesterol.
